Kate Lipper-Garabedian Endorsed for State Representative by Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund

MELROSE - The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund has endorsed Kate Lipper-Garabedian of Melrose for State Representative in the 32nd Middlesex District.

“Councilor Kate Lipper-Garabedian will be a strong advocate for the environment at the State House,” stated ELM President Elizabeth Henry. "She’s understood the importance of sustainability and fighting climate change her entire life and she has been a dedicated and respected City Councilor. She prioritizes collaboration in city government and hearing from her constituents."

"I'm proud to have received the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund,” said Councilor Lipper-Garabedian. “As a City Councilor, I’ve supported sustainability initiatives and highlighted the green energy efforts of municipal leaders and community advocates. As State Representative, I’ll identify and partner with allies in the House to support and strengthen coalitions committed to renewable energy, clean transportation, and climate resiliency."

Councilor Lipper-Garabedian was recently re-elected to her at-large seat on the Melrose City Council that she has held since January 2018. She graduated from Harvard Law School and has been a public school teacher, a judicial clerk in the federal courts, and chief legal counsel at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education.

Reducing waste and curbing greenhouse gas emissions have been priorities for Councilor Lipper-Garabedian in her role on the City Council. She has pledged that if elected to the State House, she will support investments in Net Zero initiatives aimed at tackling greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel use, like electrification, and strive for stronger state-local and regional partnerships to address this existential crisis.
