10 additional current and former elected officials endorse Kate Lipper-Garabedian for State Representative

MELROSE – On Tuesday, former Melrose Mayors Rob Dolan (2002-2018) and Gail Infurna (2018-2019) and six former City Councilors whose terms ended in 2019 officially endorsed Kate Lipper-Garabedian for State Representative for the 32nd Middlesex District. Lipper-Garabedian also received endorsements from Malden City Councillor At Large Debbie DeMaria and Malden Ward 5 School Committee Member Adam Weldai. A Melrose City Councilor, Lipper-Garabedian is a candidate in the special election to replace former Representative Paul Brodeur.

“During my time as Mayor, Kate immediately impressed me with her commitment to community and willingness to do the hard work,” said former Melrose Mayor Rob Dolan. “She showed she is adept at learning the issues and getting the job done.  Without question, I know Kate will be an exceptional legislator and advocate for Melrose and our district.”

"It is my pleasure to support Kate to be our next State Representative,” said former Melrose Mayor Gail Infurna. “She is a natural for the job - her experiences as a teacher, a lawyer, a City Councilor as well as her job of wife and mom will make her a great advocate for all of us at the State House."

“Kate is the leader we need advocating for Malden at the State House,” said Malden City Councilor At-Large Debbie DeMaria. “Her extensive education and experience, collaborative hard work ethic, melded with her family values, are what impresses me the most.  Join me and vote Kate Lipper-Garabedian.”

“Kate Lipper Garabedian is fired up and ready to go, and that’s a great sign for Malden,” said Adam Weldai, Malden School Committee Member. “We have been superbly represented by Paul Brodeur at the State House - from getting to know and become a part of our community, to advocating for our diverse needs and delivering real results - and there’s no one with more tenacity, compassion, and diverse experience to keep that tradition of high-quality, responsible representation alive than Kate! Beacon Hill is very busy ushering in major education reform, pushing for greater government transparency, and trying to take on the real challenges for us and our next generation. Kate’s depth and breadth of knowledge on the issues, her work ethic, and her proven commitment to her constituents will make her a great advocate and an effective legislator for Malden, Melrose, and Wakefield at the State House.”

Weldai represents the portion of Malden that falls within the 32nd Middlesex District.

In addition, Lipper-Garabedian received the endorsements from six former Melrose City Councilors who served with her until their terms on the Council ended in December 2019.

“I am honored to have the support of Melrose’s former Mayors Dolan and Infurna and the endorsement of so many of my former colleagues on the City Council,” said Kate Lipper-Garabedian, Candidate for State Representative. “I’m also thrilled to have received votes of confidence from Malden Councillor DeMaria and School Committee Member Weldai. As State Representative, I will make certain that the entire District is represented by someone who believes passionately about the role government can play in supporting individuals and their families, by someone who listens carefully and works hard for her constituents, and by someone who will get things done.”
